INFORMATION 2 (English)

Dear friends,

Here we are trying to make a summary of where we stand right now in terms of the Mazariades organization. We will try to answer to all the questions raised to us that might be of interest to other participants.

1) Dates

From Friday 24 til Sunday 26, September 2004.


2) Place

Accommodation and meals : concentrated at CLUB MED - Balaia (south of Portugal, Algarve, near Faro). The nights booked (for all) are Friday and Saturday.

The meals taken at the Hotel will be : Friday dinner (for all), breakfast on Saturday (for all), lunch on Saturday (only for tennis and volley players; for the golf and the football players lunch will be served at the site of the play) dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday (for all).

Sport activities: Tennis – at CLUB MED (men singles, ladies singles, men double, ladies double, and mix double).

Football : at Hotel Alfamar (approximately 5 milles from CLUB MED) – Men only.

Golf : the golf courses are not yet chosen, but the tournament will be organized by CLUB MED (men and ladies).

Volley : At the CLUB MED beach (ladies only).

Other information:

(i) For those that might wish to arrive some days earlier or stay a few days after the tournament at CLUB MED we inform that there are rooms available. Please just let us know what extra reservations do you wish; obviously this additional cost will have to be assumed by each person.

(ii) Tennis : we would like the players to participate in just one of the tournaments (singles or doubles); please indicate at the time of inscription which tournament you want to participate.

(iii) Foot : for men only. For those that wanted to have female teams we present our apologies. However we invite any female football players to participate in the volley tournament, as the football players are usually good athletes in any sport...

(iv) Golf :details will be sent later on ; please indicate your handicap.

(v) Volley : after a detailed research made we decided to innovate and therefore, the tournament will be held at the CLUB MED beach.


3) Other pratical information

(i) Faro (Algarve) has an international airport. To our knowledge there are daily flights from Frankfurt; there are also flights from Amsterdam which scale at Lisbon. From other cities it will be normally necessary to scale at Lisbon.

(ii) We cannot calculate the individual payment to be made by each person before closing the inscriptions. Our first idea is that, for the offices located in more distant countries and which presence we want to ensure (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic in particular) the only cost for those offices will be the trip.

(iii) The supporters are welcome, but we should try to keep in mind that we should not have more than 600 persons (we remind that at Strasbourg the Mazariades gathered 500 persons).

(iv) The theme for the gala dinner will the White (as a symbol of peace).

We would very much appreciate if everybody transmitted to us their inscription until July 15(for those that have not yet done so).
